STEP #1
CONCEPT
DEVELOPMENT
REFERENCE:
The first step was extensive research and reference gathering. I studied real footage of the Apollo moon landings, 1960s living rooms and objects, and films like First Man (2018) to understand the visual language of the era. I researched Coca Cola branding, including high-fidelity advertisements and Coke Zero’s design language, to ensure the brand was represented accurately and tastefully.

NARRATION:
Recreating the Apollo 11 moon landing required a strong narrative structure to guide pacing, convey epic scale, and create powerful word to image moments that captured the triumph and cultural significance of both Coca Cola and the era. The process began by sourcing an archival style television broadcast, which was then reworked using an AI generated voice and integrated Coca Cola branding.
ANIMATIC:
Creating an animatic allowed me to establish the story’s pacing and clearly communicate emotional tone, word to image relationships, and key rhetorical devices. It also gave me an early opportunity to test rendering quality. Without this step, the project would have lacked direction. Having pacing established and visuals that felt resolved was essential before moving deeper into production and refinement.
